Tong Yue & Tong Ork building (1710-1714 Government St) constructed in 1897. The lower floors are retail while the upper floors are studio apartments with skylights. The ground floor stores have a cheater type 2nd floor for storage and office use. The third floor apartments feature 12 foot ceilings and skylights. Heating is by natural gas which is not included in the rent. Windows face east and give excellent illumination throughout the year.
(564-572 Fisgard St.) originally constructed in the 1890’s, torn down and rebuilt in 1946. These locations house restaurants.

Chung Wah Company

Loo Tai Cho building (555-549 Fisgard Street) constructed in 1888-1901. The lower floors are retail/restaurant while the upper floors are studio apartments.
This building is 4 stories high. The third and fourth floors have art studios and residential suites. The fourth floor features skylights and 12 foot ceilings. The third floor features 8 foot ceilings. The 2nd floor houses a large residential studio.
Heating is by natural gas (included in the rent with the water). Rental agreements are by lease only. One side of this building borders the infamous “Fan Tan Alley”. An ornate balcony is shown at the entrance to the alley.

Yee King Yum Building (17-25 Fan Tan Alley) constructed 1913. The lower floors are retail while the upper floors are studio apartments. Heating is by natural gas (included in the rent with the water). Rental agreements are by lease only.
